What is MELT?
MELT is the innovative new self-massage technique featured in a NYTimes Best Selling Book and now in classes all over the world.

MELT uses therapeutic small treatment balls and soft body rollers to rebalance your nervous system and rehydrate your connective tissue. MELT focuses on the Neuro-Fascial System.

The Neuro-Fascial System is the body’s vast Connective Tissue network and the sensitive Nervous System. It has generally been overlooked by modern medical practitioners. With recent scientific research, bolstered by advanced microscopy, we now know that this is the body’s essential network that supports, protects and stabilizes our muscles, bones and joints. We also now know that this Neuro-Fascial System becomes dehydrated from age and use. MELT has been developed to address these issues so that you feel, move and live better.

Has MELT been reviewed by experts?
MELT has been reviewed by internationally respected doctors, neuroscientists, and connective tissue researchers, including Ben Domb, M.D: Tom Myers; Gil Hedley, Ph.D. ; Robert Schleip, Ph.D. and Jean Pierre Barral, D.O. Each expert has recognized that MELT is grounded in scientific principles and offers cumulative and lasting benefits.
Who can do MELT?
MELT is for anyone who wants to live better, longer. Everyone from Seniors to children is benefiting from MELT work. That’s because MELT slows down the aging process by rehydrating the body’s connective tissue and rebalancing the nervous system. MELT is also helping those who have neurological or auto immune issues. Anyone who is noticing his or her body “Just ain’t doin’ what it used to do” is feeling and seeing a benefit from learning the simple yet deep MELT self-massage techniques.
Is MELT like yoga, Feldenkrais, Pilates, or physical therapy?
No. MELT is unlike any other technique because it addresses an entirely different system of the body. MELT is to the Neuro-fascial system (nervous and connective tissue systems) what all other forms of exercise are to the musculoskeletal system. The science of the Neuro-fascial system is being introduced to the health and fitness arena for the first time by founder Sue Hitzmann and the MELT team of instructors.
What do I wear and bring to a MELT class or session?
That’s easy!
Wear comfortable clothing, thin socks or bare feet. Bring a water bottle and a yoga mat. For those who cannot get on the floor, we will provide a chair. Just let us know. We provide the Soft Body Rollers and Specialized MELT therapeutic treatment balls for class for those who haven’t yet gotten their own supplies. Many students like to bring their own MELT Kit and Roller to classes because they are using them at home regularly after the beginning workshop.
